While listening to the 2nd set:
This is the Gospel:
Jesus was an actual person.
HE was fully human
and fully God.
HE was fully human
so as to be our representative.
Our first representative Adam
Fell into error and thus his sin
was passed on to all of humanity
Jesus the 2nd Adam
lived a perfect, holy and sinless life.
It is the life which He lived
which He offered as payment in full
for the debt of His people.
Now we all know what it is to trespass
If we are righteous, we ask forgiveness
and try to make restitution.
Yet, our sin debt to God
could never have been paid off
by such methods
because to pay off sin before a holy GOD
required a perfect payment or sacrifice.
Yet what can a fallen human being offer a holy GOD? Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only begotten son Issac. But God stayed his hand.
The Children of Israel offered daily sacrifice but the blood of bulls and goats while it could cover sin it could not provide total reconciliation.
So in the fullness of time. God provided His only begotten Son. By the Spirit of God-
HE was Conceived by a virgin so as not to be tainted by the original sin of Adam -yet fully of the Kingly line of Israel a descendant of King David and since there is only ONE human race also in the line of Adam.
This Jesus willingly sacrificed the Eternal Life HE had earned. As payment for the imperfect lives of HIS people.
A once for all sacrifice in which JESUS not only made payment of the debt of His people but also gave to His people His perfect righteousness.
So if you are wondering how can GOD judge this fallen human race? HE does so in righteousness because HE offers anyone who shall come forgiveness thru HIS Son.
To refuse this offer is to reject the one way of escape that has been made.
Some say they are too good to need God's offer of mercy while others say they are too bad. both kinds of people will face a holy GOD in judgment.
You see humanities greatest problem is that we live in a universe ruled by a Holy and Sovereign God. A God too holy to even look upon sin. in creating humanity. God gave to each of His creatures a soul. A soul which guarantees that you and i and every single human being born into this world will live for eternity.
So that is why I urge you fellow Deadhead make the best use of your time here on earth.
God does not weigh your deeds on a scale because just one sin is worthy of damnation.
And i don't know about you but if you count my thoughts, the things i should have or could have done and of course all the times i just flat out blow it. i am toast.
So perhaps your thinking. So many 'church' people are hypocrites and yes things have not changed all that much in 2000 years. Jesus could see thru the 'church' people of His day.
He preached fire & brimstone to such people.
I will tell you straight up many churches
no longer preach the gospel or look to Jesus.
But that also does not absolve us of our responsibility to find a church that preaches the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Yes, we are all imperfect people.
And we all fall short of God's intent for our lives.
but friend God is extending grace and mercy in Jesus. At some point the God of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob will again turn His full attention to Zion and the church age as we know it will come to a close.
So i beg of you Dear Friend -Today, if you hear the Lord's voice -Do not harden your heart.
This Jesus Whom i serve is a God of great love and mercy. He has called all to repentance but those who will not bow the knee will face this same Jesus as judge because Light has come into the world but men love darkness and because Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven by which we must be saved.
